For individual over 65 markets:
Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) is partnered with AHIP to provide training which seamlessly leads agents through all three parts of the annual training required by CMS. The use of this AHIP platform does require a fee, however, for producers who use the link below to access Part 1, a discounted fee of $125 applies. The standard rate is $175.00.
Part 1 of the 2017 AHIP course began on Monday, June 20th. You may access this discounted curriculum at this link.
Training ends on December 25th for Sub Agents, and on January 1st for all individual agents and agencies. If training for 2017 is not completed by these deadlines, any Blue Cross MedicareRX and/or Medicare Advantage policies sold after 2008 will move to a house account and commissions will no longer be paid.
REMINDER: Complete Broker Code with all Nine Digits
BCBSIL has asked that agents remember to include their entire 9 digit broker code on ALL submitted applications. This includes any preceding or ending zeros. For example, if the writing number is '000123456' it should be written as such and NOT '123456'. Including all nine digits will allow for quicker processing of applications and ensure the correct agent is assigned to the policy.
Using the Express Link to Write New Business
The Express Link tool is once again up and running for Medicare Supplement applications. It is NOT available yet for MAPD/PDP. Agents can use their link to complete online MedSup applications with clients in order to have the agent information tied to the application and subsequent policy. More details can be found here.
Medicare Supplement Rate History
BCBSIL just released the 2016 Medicare Supplement Rate Stability Flier. Please note this illustration is for producers only and should NOT be distributed to current or potential members.
